You Can’t Take It With You

You Can’t Take It With You was my first show with Storyteller Studio and it holds a very special place in my heart.

The show focuses on the eccentric Sycamore family who all have bizarre hobbies, except for the youngest daughter, Alice, who is the only one who holds a job. She falls in love with her boss’ son, Toby Kirby, and they arrange for the two families to meet. However, the Kirby’s show up a day too early and witness all of the chaos of the Sycamore household.

What made this experience truly special was my profound connection with Alice. Much like her, I come from a family that marches to the beat of its own drum. Despite their quirks, they are my unwavering support. Alice grapples with the choice between familial duty and romantic love, ultimately discovering that a relationship is only meaningful when your partner embraces your family as wholeheartedly as you do.
